1. Celebrating 30 years

The first rays of the morning sun had barely touched the city of dreams- Mumbai, when the grand gates of Raghuvanshi Palace opened.

The Palace, which usually stood with quiet dignity, looked transformed into a living celebration. The palace stood proudly against the morning sky like a royal heritage brought back to life. Its cream-colored sandstone walls shimmered under soft golden lighting, while intricately carved balconies were draped with endless strings of fresh marigolds, white jasmine, and pink roses. Every pillar wore a garland as though it had been personally adorned for the occasion. The massive wrought-iron gates, embossed with the Raghuvanshi crest, were decorated with fresh mango leaves, lotus flowers, and delicate strands of pearls. On either side stood enormous brass urns overflowing with orchids, lilies, and tuberoses, their fragrance welcoming every guest before a single word was spoken. A long crimson carpet stretched from the entrance gate to the palace steps, bordered by hundreds of polished brass lamps waiting to be lit as evening approached. Between them, rangolis crafted from flower petals and colored powders displayed intricate patterns of peacocks, lotuses, and the auspicious symbol of Lord Ganesha. Today the Raghuvanshi Palace is celebrating thirty long years of Raghuvanshi Enterprises- The Heritage Jewels.! And on this occasion Raghuvanshis are celebrating Ganesh Puja at the palace.

The palace gardens had transformed into a paradise. Crystal lanterns hung from the trees, swaying gently in the breeze and scattering shimmering reflections across the lawns. Fountains danced in synchronized patterns, illuminated by soft golden lights beneath the water, while floating lotus candles drifted peacefully across the marble pools.
Every pathway was lined with perfectly trimmed hedges shaped into elegant arches, intertwined with fresh flowers. Hidden speakers played gentle instrumental Ganesh Aarti and flute melodies, filling the air with serenity despite the bustle of preparations.

The grand staircase leading to the main entrance had become a masterpiece in itself. The white marble steps disappeared beneath a carpet of rose petals, while silver railings were wrapped in strings of jasmine. At every landing stood towering crystal candelabras adorned with fresh flowers, creating the illusion that the staircase belonged to a royal palace from another era.

Inside, the central hall was breathtaking. A gigantic crystal chandelier descended from the ceiling, its thousands of crystals catching the morning sunlight and scattering tiny rainbows across the polished Italian marble floor.

At the heart of the palace lay the courtyard, transformed into a divine sanctuary for the Ganesh Puja. A magnificent silver platform had been erected beneath a floral canopy woven entirely from white jasmine, orange marigolds, pink lotuses, and red roses. In the center sat a majestic idol of Lord Ganesha, beautifully adorned with sandalwood paste, garlands, and a golden crown. Around the mandap, thousands of earthen diyas were arranged in concentric circles, ready to illuminate the courtyard with a warm, sacred glow. Silver kalash filled with coconut and mango leaves stood at every corner, while incense diffused the fragrance of sandalwood and camphor through the air. Priests quietly arranged sacred scriptures, brass bells, conch shells, and silver thalis engraved with traditional motifs.

Even the smallest details reflected grandeur. Crystal bowls filled with floating roses decorated every corridor. Uniformed attendants carried silver trays laden with saffron milk, dry fruits, and fresh flowers for arriving guests. Florists made last-minute adjustments with tweezers, ensuring that not a single petal was out of place.

Slowly, Guruji Vashisht stepped forward towards the lord Ganesha idol. Dressed in an elegant ivory silk kurta with a finely embroidered shawl draped over his shoulders, he folded his hands before the deity.

VASHISHT- Vakratunda Mahakaya,
Suryakoti Samaprabha; Nirvighnam Kuru Me Deva, Sarva-Kaaryeshu Sarvada.

The priests joined him, their voices resonating through the courtyard. The rhythmic sound of bells and the soft beat of the mridangam filled the courtyard, making the prayer feel timeless.

As the chant ended, Guruji bowed his head and spoke softly, his words carrying the sincerity of a man who valued family above fortune.

VASHISHT- Hey Bhagwan Ram, Hey Ganpati Bappa, aaj yeh Raghuvanshi pariwar tees saal ki kamiyabi manane ja rahe hai. Iss ghar par hamesha apni kripa banaye rakhna.

His voice is deep and his words tell how deeply he is connected with the pure hindi language. He smile as he joined his hands proudly while the whispers around the area could be heard to him.

VASHISHT- aur yeh sab sirf aap ki wajah se hai. Aapke ashirwad se hai.

Guru Vashisht again closed his eyes for a moment and hold his hands tightly in front of the idol.

VASHISHT- Hamari safalta kabhi hume ahankari na banaye aur hamari mushkile kabhi hamara hausla na tod paaye. Hamare parivaar mein hamesha prem aur apnapan bana rahe, taaki koi bhi galatfahmi hamare rishton aur hamare bandhan se badi na ho.

The priests around him smile softly at his words and they too have started praying for the family now.

VASHISHT- is parivaar ke har sadasya ki raksha karna. Hume har faisla sahi soch ke saath lene ki shakti dena, hamare sanskaaron ko hamesha mazboot rakhna, aur hamare har karm se hamare parivaar ke naam aur maryada ka maan aur badhta rahe.

For a brief moment, emotion softened his composed expression.

VASHISHT- Aur aaj jab hum apni is yatra ka ek naya adhyaay shuru kar rahe hain, toh har kadam par hamare saath rehna. Hamare raaste se har vighn aur baadha ko door karna. Hamari har khushi ko hasi aur umang se bhar dena, har dukh ko sehne ki shakti dena, aur hamare har rishte ko samajh, vishwas aur prem se mazboot banaye rakhna.

He gently bowed until his forehead touched his folded hands. While the priest around him chanted loudly.

"Ganpati Bappa Morya. Mangal Murti Morya!"

"Siyawar Ramchandra ki Jai.!!"

Almost instantly, the entire courtyard echoed in unison,

The conch shell sounded, temple bells rang, and for a moment, the grandeur of the palace, the media waiting outside, and the celebration of thirty years all seemed insignificant before the quiet faith that held the family together.

**********

Outside the palace, the city buzzed with anticipation. Media vans occupied an entire stretch of the road. Camera cranes rose above the crowd. Security personnel coordinated through wireless earpieces, while elegantly dressed guests stepped out of luxury cars one after another. Satellite vans from every major news channel lined the road. Cameramen adjusted their lenses. Reporters rehearsed their introductions.

Security personnel stood at every entrance, communicating through earpieces while guests arrived in a procession of luxury cars. Metal detectors, barricades, and invitation scanners had been installed, making the palace resemble the venue of a national event rather than a private celebration.

After all, today was not merely an anniversary. Today, Raghuvanshi Enterprises was completing thirty glorious years. Three decades of building industries. Three decades of creating employment. Three decades of transforming a business into one of the city's most respected empires. And the city intended to celebrate it with them.

Near the grand entrance, a young reporter fixed her microphone and smiled at the camera.

REPORTER- Good morning, everyone. We are reporting live from the iconic Raghuvanshi Palace, where preparations are underway for the thirtieth anniversary celebrations of Raghuvanshi Enterprises.

The camera have already started recording. Though few of the reporters wanted to peep inside the grand gates but the securities did not allowed them to.

REPORTER- The day will begin with an auspicious Ganesh Puja attended by the entire Raghuvanshi family, followed by several cultural and business events this evening. Prominent industrialists, political leaders, and international delegates are expected to attend.

Behind her inside the courtyard of the palace, workers hurried with trays of flowers while decorators climbed ladders to place the final strings of orchids. Another cameraman whispered-

CAMERAMAN- Make sure to capture the entrance once the family arrives. People wait all year just to see them.

His assistant nodded in agreement and get readied with the camera.

CAMERAMAN- They say when the Raghuvanshis celebrate, the whole city celebrates.

The reports smile in between them.

Inside the palace, the grandeur gave way to devotion.

The central courtyard had been converted into a magnificent mandap till now. One priest glanced at the elaborate arrangements and smiled.

PRIEST- saari tayyariya hogayi hai.

Another folded his hands before the deity.

PRIEST- Abb Raghuvanshi pariwar ke aane ki der hai.

At that moment, the sound of measured footsteps echoed through the marble corridor. All heads instinctively turned.

Dashrath Raghuvanshi, the head of the family, walked toward the mandap with quiet grace and dignity. Dressed in an elegant cream silk sherwani with a deep maroon shawl draped over his shoulders, his composed smile reflected the wisdom earned through years of struggle and success. He did not carry the air of a business tycoon; he carried the humility of a man who remembered where his journey had begun.

As he approached the mandap, he removed his footwear, folded his hands, and bowed before Lord Ganesha. For a few moments, he stood with closed eyes, offering a silent prayer known only to his heart. He then turned toward Vashisht, who stood beside him with a proud smile.

DASHRATH- namaste Guruji.!

Without hesitation, Dashrath bent respectfully and touched Vashisht's feet. Vashisht was taken aback for a second.

VASHISHT- Dashrath...

He said softly, trying to stop him.

VASHISHT- yaha sab log hai. Aur tum sabke samne aise mere per chuoge.?

Dashrath smiled at him. He joined his hands in front of Guru Vashisht in affection.

DASHRATH- Aashirwad lene se bada dhan aur kya ho sakta hai?

Vashisht's eyes softened with affection. Placing both hands on Dashrath's head, he blessed him proudly.

VASHISHT- Khush raho. Tumhara naam aur tumhare karm hamesha is parivaar ka gaurav bane rahe. Bhagwan tumhe aur adhik sammaan, samriddhi aur sabse badhkar, parivaar ka saath de.

Dashrath straightened and looked at him with gratitude. For a brief moment, the noise of preparations seemed to fade away.

Dashrath looked around the palace- the grand decorations, the smiling faces around, the priests, the staff rushing to complete arrangements, and the media talking about the company's thirty-year journey.

A gentle smile appeared on his face. He spoke slowly, every word carrying the weight of memories.

DASHRATH- thirty long years Guruji.!

Vashisht smile at him proudly while Dashrath turned to look at him.

DASHRATH- There were days when we had dreams bigger than our resources and faith stronger than our circumstances.

Vashisht nodded head positively and Dashrath became emotional plus proud.

DASHRATH- We celebrated small victories because they were all we had, and we accepted failures because they taught us how to stand again.

His gaze rested on the idol of Lord Ganesha.

DASHRATH- I still remember the time when even arranging salaries on time felt like a challenge. Today, people see the buildings, the factories, the success, and the celebrations. They see the destination.

He paused and turned towards Vashisht again while Guruji have placed his hand on Dashrath's shoulder.

DASHRATH- But only this family knows the journey.

Looking at Vashisht, he continued,

DASHRATH- Aaj mujhe is baat ka garv sirf isliye nahi hai ki Raghuvanshi Enterprises ne tees saal poore kar liye hain. Mujhe garv is baat ka hai ki humne kabhi apne sanskaar, apni imaandari aur apne rishton ka sauda nahi kiya.

Vashisht felt proud as his heart filled up with happiness.

VASHISHT- Yeh imaarat paththaron se bani hogi, lekin iski neev bharose se bani hai. Yeh company paison se badi nahi bani, logon ki duaon aur apno ke saath se badi bani hai.

A smile of contentment spread across Dashrath's face.

DASHRATH- Agar Bhagwan ki kripa aur aap sabka saath bana raha, toh agle tees saal bhi hum isi tarah ek saath khade honge- ek parivaar ki tarah.

Guruji Vashisht nodded at him happily. The priests rang the temple bells. The conch shell echoed through Raghuvanshi Palace. And standing before Lord Ganesha, Dashrath silently folded his hands once again, thanking the Almighty not merely for thirty years of success, but for thirty years of togetherness.

But while the palace looked calm on the outside... Inside, organized chaos ruled. Some workers was searching for the silver aarti thali. Someone else was arguing about the placement of flower baskets. A chef rushed through the corridor shouting-

CHEF- Who moved the dry fruits meant for the prasad?

A servant answered from the balcony-

SERVANT- I didn't! Ask the catering team!

The poor manager closed his eyes for a second. His prayer lasted exactly three seconds before another employee came running.

EMPLOYEE- Sir! The media wants permission for drone coverage!

Before he could answer, another voice interrupted.

EMPLOYEE- The florist says he needs ten more minutes!

The manager looked toward the idol of Lord Ram at the temple and sighed.

MANAGER- hey bhagwan kya horaha hai.? Please remove every obstacle... especially the human ones.

A firm yet graceful voice broke through the commotion and everyone went alert.

"Yeh phoolon ki mala seedhi karo... aur entrance ke dono taraf ek jaisi decoration honi chahiye. Perfection matters."

The staff immediately turned around. Kranti Raghuvanshi had arrived. Draped in a magnificent emerald green silk saree woven with intricate golden zari work, she walked into the grand hall with effortless elegance. A delicate gold necklace rested around her neck, matching the traditional bangles that chimed softly with every step. Her neatly tied hair adorned with fresh jasmine flowers completed the regal look.

She wasn't rushing. She didn't need to. Her calm presence alone was enough to make everyone stand straighter. The manager quickly approached her.

MANAGER- hello Ma'am. Almost everything is ready.

Kranti's eyes swept across the hall. She noticed a flower arrangement that leaned slightly to one side.

KRANTI- The vase.

Kranti pointed towards it. The manager looked confused.

KRANTI- It is two inches away from the center.

The manager blinked. Within seconds, two staff members adjusted it. She moved ahead. Her sharp eyes caught another detail.

KRANTI- The red carpet has a fold near the staircase.

A housekeeping supervisor immediately bent down to smooth it. Kranti smiled faintly.

KRANTI- Guests may not notice these things. But when we know they are there, we cannot ignore them.

She stopped near the entrance where attendants were arranging welcome trays. Picking up one silver thali, she examined it carefully.

KRANTI- The kumkum bowl is half-filled.

The young attendant nervously replied holding his hands at front.

ATTENDANT- I will refill it immediately, Ma'am.

Kranti smile at him and nodded her head.

KRANTI- And replace these wilted rose petals. Fresh flowers should look fresh.

Without raising her voice, she commanded attention. The decorators exchanged nervous glances. One worker climbed a ladder to fix a slightly uneven string of jasmine. Another hurried to polish the brass lamps once more. Even the event coordinator discreetly checked his checklist again. Kranti walked toward the dining arrangements. Rows of silver utensils gleamed under the chandeliers. She ran her fingers lightly across one plate. A tiny fingerprint remained. She handed it back to the steward with a gentle smile.

KRANTI- It shines beautifully. Make sure every guest sees their reflection in it.

The steward nodded respectfully. Nearby, a young florist accidentally dropped a basket of marigold petals. They scattered across the marble floor. The boy immediately knelt down, panic visible on his face.

FLORIST- I am so sorry, Ma'am. It won't happen again.

Kranti bent slightly, picked up a handful of petals, and placed them back into the basket. Looking at him kindly, she said.

KRANTI- Mistakes happen when people work with dedication. Just don't repeat them.

The young man's tense expression relaxed. She continued walking through the hall, occasionally giving instructions.

KRANTI- The media enclosure should have enough seating. Ensure drinking water is available for every security officer outside.

The manager noted down everything, each and every word. Kranti stopped in between and turned towards him for once.

KRANTI- And remember...

Everyone paused to listen.

KRANTI- People will remember the decorations for a day, the food for a week, but the respect they receive will stay with them forever. Our celebration should reflect our values as much as our success.

The entire staff responded together with a smile.

"Yes, Ma'am."

Watching her oversee every detail with authority and warmth, one senior employee smiled at another and whispered.

EMPLOYEE- Dashrath sir ne empire khada kiya hoga... lekin iss ghar ki dhadkan toh Kranti Ma'am hi hai.

And without realizing it, everyone around her worked a little faster, stood a little taller, and smiled a little more- because when Kranti took charge, excellence wasn't expected; it was inevitable.

"Didi..."

Kranti stopped with her work and turned to look at her back with a huge smile.

SUMITRA- agar aapko mauka mile, toh chand ko bhi thoda aur chamakne ka order de dengi aap.

The workers smiled instantly. Dressed in a beautiful peach Banarasi saree with delicate zari work, adorned with elegant pearl earrings and a simple bindi, Sumitra carried an effortless grace. There was a youthful sparkle in her eyes and a sweetness in her smile that could calm the busiest atmosphere.

Kranti shook her head affectionately.

KRANTI- Sumitra tum na kabhi nahi sudhrogi.

Sumitra laughed as she came closer.

SUMITRA- Aur aap kabhi perfection ke peeche bhaagna nahi chhodengi.

Kranti folded her arms while narrowing her eyes.

KRANTI- that's what makes Raghuvanshis as they are.!

Sumitra looked around the magnificent hall. Fresh flowers hung from every pillar, silver lamps gleamed under the chandeliers, and the rangolis looked like works of art. She smiled proudly.

SUMITRA- I must admit, Didi... every year I think this palace cannot look more beautiful.

She paused and looked around once again.

SUMITRA- And every year, you prove me wrong.

Kranti smiled modestly.

KRANTI- This isn't about decoration. Today is special.

Sumitra nodded in agreement.

SUMITRA- ha bilkul.!

For a few moments, both sisters stood silently, watching the palace come alive with preparations.

SUMITRA- Can you believe it, Didi? Thirty years.

Kranti's eyes turned back at her. She smile and placed her hand on Sumitra's shoulder.

KRANTI- hum dono to tab iss ghar ki bahuye bhi nahi thi, jab Dashrath ne yeh chotasa business start kiya tha.

Sumitra chuckled immediately.

SUMITRA- I still remember when our celebrations were so simple. A small puja, homemade sweets, and everyone helping with the decorations. And now...

She gestured toward the entrance where media crews and security personnel could be seen through the glass doors.

SUMITRA- The entire city is waiting outside.

Kranti looked at everything with a proud smile.

KRANTI- The business has grown. The family has grown. Our responsibilities have grown.

Then she smiled.

KRANTI- But thankfully, our values have remained the same.

Sumitra nodded with pride.

SUMITRA- That is our biggest achievement.

She looked lovingly at Kranti.

SUMITRA- You know, people praise Raghuvanshi Enterprises for becoming an empire.

She squeezed her sister's hand.

SUMITRA- But only we know that this family became an empire because everyone stood together.

Kranti smiled and nodded to agree. Just then, Sumitra suddenly widened her eyes.

SUMITRA- Arey, jo me puchne aayi thi wo to reh hi gaya.

Kranti looked at her in confusion and waited for Sumitra to say.

SUMITRA- kheer!

Kranti stared at her for a second before laughing.

KRANTI- So finally you remembered.

Sumitra placed a hand on her forehead dramatically.

SUMITRA- With all these arrangements, I almost forgot to ask. You know very well whose favorite dessert it is.

Kranti's expression instantly turned tender. She smiled and replied.

KRANTI- Ek maa apne bete ki pasand kaise bhool sakti hai?

Sumitra smile at her and so as the workers who were silently listening to them standing at their back.

KRANTI- I personally checked the milk before sunrise. It has been simmering slowly for hours, the saffron has been soaked, the dry fruits are ready, and I have already told the kitchen that no one is allowed to rush it. Kheer tastes best when it's made with patience and by me.

Sumitra smiled knowingly. She laughs for a moment and Kranti keep on looking at her.

SUMITRA- chahe aap kuch bhi bhul jaye, but kisi occasion par kheer banana nahi bhulengi.

KRANTI- without a doubt.!

Kranti has said that proudly while Sumitra keep on smiling at her.

Both of them turned to look around the palace filled with laughter, devotion, and endless activity.

Outside Raghuvanshi Palace, expensive cars rolled in one after another, their arrival announced by flashing cameras and the murmurs of reporters. Security personnel politely guided the guests while the grand gates remained open to welcome them.

Amidst the line of luxury vehicles, an ordinary white sedan slowly came to a halt. The engine was switched off. The side door opened, and Shanta Chauhan, stepped out with a bright smile. Dressed in a beautiful but simple teal silk saree with minimal jewelry, she adjusted her pallu and looked at the palace with a huge smile. Her eyes sparkled.

SHANTA- Every time I come here, Raghuvanshi Palace looks even more beautiful.

From the driver's side, Rishi Chauhan stepped out dressed in a simple off white kurta, carefully locking the car before looking around. He stood speechless. His gaze traveled from the enormous floral entrance to the rows of media vans, the security arrangements, and finally the palace itself, glowing under thousands of flowers and lights. He scratched his head.

RISHI- Shanta...

She turned to look at him as he stood beside her.

RISHI- Are you absolutely sure this is a family function.?

She looked at him innocently and in confusion. Rishi pointed toward the entrance.

RISHI- There are television reporters, and security guards everywhere.

She nodded happily and waited for Rishi to continue.

RISHI- There are luxury cars worth more than our entire neighborhood.

Shanta laughs at him a little and Rishi looks a little embarrassed.

RISHI- And look at that decoration! If someone told me the President was coming, I would believe it.

Shanta burst into laughter this time.

SHANTA- jab bhi hum yaha aate hai, tum same chize kyu bolte ho.?

Rishi folded his arms with a light smile. He looked at the palace again.

RISHI- I bought a new kurta thinking I should look presentable. Now I am wondering if I should have rented one from any king or superstar instead.

He smiled awkwardly. Shanta nudged his shoulder.

SHANTA- Stop overthinking.

He sighed dramatically and shook his head in disbelief.

RISHI- tumhare liye aasan hai, because yeh tumhare bade papa ka ghar hai.

She smiled proudly and then looked at him affectionately.

SHANTA- No one inside measures people by the price of their clothes or the car they arrive in.

Rishi looked at her and found Shanta already smiling at him.

SHANTA- bade papa has always taught us that relationships are wealth. Everything else comes later.

Rishi glanced at the luxury vehicles parked nearby and then at their modest car. He smiled sheepishly.

RISHI- I still feel our little car is looking around and wondering if it has come to the wrong address.

Shanta laughed at him again this time placing her hand on her mouth.

SHANTA- If you are married to me, you will have to develop a habit.

Rishi narrowed his eyes for a moment.

RISHI- kis chiz ki habit.?

Shanta smile at him before answering.

SHANTA- A habit of grand celebrations, of media standing outside, of getting lost in this enormous palace.

Rishi keep on listening to her and at a moment Shanta smile at him placing her hand on his shoulder.

SHANTA- And most importantly a habit of remembering that this family may be rich in business, but they value affection more than status.

Rishi looked at her for a moment before smiling.

RISHI- You know, that is the reason I never hesitate to come here. Because even though I don't belong to a wealthy family, your relatives never make me feel small.

Shanta's expression softened. She gently held his hand.

SHANTA- tumse sab pyaar karte hai. Badi maa, choti maa, mere sab bhai... aur bade papa bhi.

Rishi's smile lessened for a moment and Shanta keep on looking at him. He wanted to say something but decided to remain quiet.

Just then, the sound of temple bells echoed from inside the palace. Shanta smiled.

SHANTA- Come on. Andar chale.?

Rishi took one last look at the magnificent palace and chuckled.

RISHI- Fine. Chalte hai.!

Both of them laughed lightly and walked through the grand entrance together, leaving behind every comparison of wealth, carrying with them only the comfort of belonging.
